The criminal contempt citations of White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former presidential counsel Harriet Miers have been ignored by the Bush Administration, as was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 's request to Attorney General Michael Mukasey to refer the House's contempt citations to a federal grand jury. Instead of letting a jury decide, Bush uses his henchman Mukasey to subvert the law.
This means the vital separation of powers between the Executive and Judicial branches of our Federal government have been violated. The Dept. of Justice is in bed with Bush and is not acting responsibly.
This begs the question:
If the Bush Administration did nothing wrong in the attorney firings investigation and various other investigations, why don't they surrender documents, White House emails, and put people on record with testimony?
Answer:
They've got something to hide - a crime.
This action is illegal - ignoring a contempt of Congress citation. Also, failing to produce White House emails is an illegal violation of the Presidential Records Act.
The criminals stonewall justice and have politicized the Department of Justice in an abuse of power and illegal violation of the Constitutional separation of powers.
So, as a result of this criminal behavior, the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee has filed a lawsuit against Bolten and Miers in federal court.
Let's hope the best for the integrity of our Justice system and show these cowards that they can't hide.

Mukasey says he will not investigate. I honestly have not been following this story all that closely. If Justice doesn't pursue this, what good is the House of Rep's suit?

I think the House can force the issue, whether Mucusy likes it or not. I'm not sure how it works, but it was discussed on NPR last week. I think I had stopped working and uncorked the jug at that point, but I heard something through the stupor.
