CNN searches for ignorant Republicans and finds them. Where else, but in Tennessee?

Don't get me wrong, I love Tennessee but why are there so many ignorant xenophobic people in rural white TN? Personally, I'd have no problem voting for Obama if he were a Muslim, even though he's not. I wish he didn't feel compelled to espouse any religion but unfortunately, that is not permitted among politicians in America if they expect to win. The very suggestion that he is Muslim has spread among the racist ignorant like a virus. CNN went looking to find real people infected with this virus of ignorance.

This evening, CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked about Barack Obama, "why is it that there are still so many people, more than one in 10 in recent polling, who still believe he's a Muslim?"

CNN's Gary Tuchman went looking for a place where ignorance lives. He found what he was looking for in Copperhill, Tennessee. He interviewed many residents who believed Obama is a Muslim, including the Mayor of Copperhill.

Here's one of the conversations:

GARY TUCHMAN, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: What concerns you about Barack Obama?

TN FEMALE: The safety of our country if Obama gets in. I do -- he is a Muslim, and I'm very concerned about that.

TUCHMAN: The fact is, he says he's not a Muslim. He says he's a Christian.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, I know what he says. (LAUGHS)

Tuchman said of the roughly 2 dozen people he talked to, all but one believe Obama is a Muslim. Shoot, even my barber from Woodbury thinks Obama is a Muslim.

What fools reign at CNN! Wolf Blitzer is reigning chief asshole. Ignorance is found EVERYWHERE, not just Tenn., or Ga. or Ark. It is prevalent in large metro populations in California, New York, Texas and D.C. as well. Surprised? You shouldn't be. Call it reverse ignorance, or just plain ignorance, the 'advanced' populations are drowning in their own stupidity by thinking they have their finger on the pulse of everyone else outside their self-imposed little bubbles of hypocrisy.

As to whether Barack is genuinely Muslim, we don't know. But he has dabbled enough in it to proclaim him close to the faith. His own beliefs, publicly stated, sync him much closer to Islam than Christianity. And his given name doesn't do anything to deflect that criticism. Behind every name there is a history, or reason, for the name. Barack has done very little to dissuade the notion he just might be a closet Muslim.

We DO know that he is a staunch socialist, which aligns him closer to the liberals of the land (see: Hollywood, upper academia, agnostics/atheists, and others.) This puts him in the minority of Americans, those who believe in no moral absolutes, have no pride in their country, do not believe that America has every right to take the high road and protect its interests and are more than ready to sell out to all the undesirable "little" nations of the world who offer little but take much from the most generous nation in the history of the world.

Now, who are the ignorant ones? If you still believe its the folks in Tenn, et al, then you deserve to have your right to vote repealed, for your ability to reason responsibly is severely questionable.

The above comment illustrates bigotry and ignorance... as well as the conservative religion fetish. Thank you for proving ignorance is everywhere.
