Fred Thompson campaigns on drug dealer's plane

So, the party of conservatism and moral values has a new icon - Fred Thompson. Thompson's friend, fundraiser, and close advisor is Philip Martin, a convicted cocaine trafficker. Fred has been using Martin's airplane for traversing the country in his presidential campaign.

Martin has also campaigned for TN Republican Congressman Zach Wamp and had donated more than $75,000 to GOP candidates and committees by 2002. Martin has been a friend of Thompson's for more than 10 years, I find it difficult to believe he had no inkling of Martin's past criminal convictions.

Hillary gave back more than $800,000 raised by Norman Hsu, one of her top bundlers, after newspapers disclosed that he had been convicted of fraud.

Let's see what Thompson does. Doesn't matter, he has no chance anyway.

Martin entered a plea of guilty to the sale of 11 pounds of marijuana in 1979; the court withheld judgment pending completion of his probation. He was charged in 1983 with violating his probation and with multiple counts of felony bookmaking, cocaine trafficking and conspiracy. He pleaded no contest to the cocaine-trafficking and conspiracy charges, which stemmed from a plan to sell $30,000 worth of the drug, and was continued on probation.

I think there's a bit of difference between a guy that is 49 now and took care of his legal issues when he was 20-25 and Norman Hsu who has been on the lamb for the past 5 years.

I just don't think there are that many similarities, and if that's all the mud diggers can find, there must be some straw grasping going on.

Hmmm.

I think you're right, Blake. George Bush, after all, used to be a drunk, drug-addled frat boy who went AWOL; but, all of that happened when HE was much younger.

Bill Clinton's dope smoking was a big deal, though--at least until the blow job gambit was pursued.
