McCain called for vile ad - LIES about Obamas sex-ed record

McClatchy:

Out of bounds! McCain misstates Obama sex-ed record

Why that's wrong: This is a deliberately misleading accusation. As a state senator in Illinois, Obama did vote for but was not a sponsor of legislation dealing with sex ed for grades K-12.

But the legislation allowed local school boards to teach "age-appropriate" sex education, not comprehensive lessons to kindergartners, and it gave schools the ability to warn young children about inappropriate touching and sexual predators.

This is the type of lying gutter politics that they hope will fool 51% of the people. It's disgusting and Ned Williams should be ashamed for endorsing this ad. Such an education program could in fact protect his own daughters from being victims of a pedophile.

McCain's 'Education' Spot Is Dishonest, Deceptive

The McCain ad is wrong when it claims -- in a voice dripping with sarcasm -- that Obama's "one accomplishment" in the education field was a sex education bill for kindergartners. While it is true that Obama supported the bill, he was not one of the sponsors. As far as kindergartners were concerned, the principal purpose of the bill was to make them aware of the risk of inappropriate touching and sexual predators. Other states, including California and Massachusetts, have passed similar legislation.

McCain rewriting rules of decency

Saying the ad is a lie doesn’t begin to describe its shamelessness.

McCain and Palin Show Utter Disregard For Sexual Assault Victims

John McCain is not only willing to stoop as low as possible in order to win an election, he is against protecting our nation's very youngest citizens against pedophiles. McCain's campaign has just spoken out against early kindergarten children learning how to protect themselves against sexual predators.

There will be a backlash for these lies...
